I feel resentful for his popularity for some reason.

I DO, TOO! It's strange, because the show began with such a small fanbase, but now...well, I should just be thankful that others have discovered its awesomeness!

Maybe that's the reason. Like we've been here the whole time and these people are coming in and being absolutely INSANE.

I actually feel that way more about Barney/Robin. I still love them, but I've had take a step back from the fandom because it got TOO crazy.

I'm still watching for other parts of the show, you know? They're probably my favorite part, but I love it ALL!

There's WAY too much! I'm barely want to write for them anymore and I write AWESOME FIC!

You do write awesome fic! I don't know, I don't even read them anymore, much less write. I've never been able to write them the way I see them, though. YOURS I WOULD READ, THOUGH!

Yeah, I love Barney/Robin, but I have to stay away from the fandom. CRAZIES.

And I think, too, that some of these newbies have an unrealistic view of Barney.

Like they were complaining about Barney being mean to the kid in the last episode, but GUESS WHAT? Barney is NOT a nice guy! I love him, but he's not nice . . . not even always to his friends.

That's a really great point. Barney is basically a jackass. A lovable jackass, but a horrible person nonetheless.

And I'm okay with that on a tv show. I love Chuck Bass, too.

BUT I'D STAY FAR AWAY FROM BOTH OF THEM IN REAL LIFE.

I have one. Though it's on my keys... which I don't carry around because our house has a keypad entry.

I have pepper spray, which I carry around when I go for walks. At least when I remember. :-/

This is so true. I didn't like the last episode much, but I saw the complaints on Barney being mean when I didn't see it as being out there. Um, how often is he even nice? What I love about characters is recognizing that they are human and people--their flaws are inherent, and you can't make excuses for them, or complain when they act a particular way when it's in frickin character! Some fans...

I know! I don't even WANT the characters like Barney to be nice all the time. That's when I'D start complaining! I mean, they're going to have to careful just to make him still be "Barney" when he's with Robin! He's NOT going to be a perfect boyfriend!

Uber-sweet characters always make me want to off myself. I like snarky attitudes and all that sort of stuff. Well, too much of anything is off-putting.

I also worry about how they're going to handle Barney and Robin, but I've got faith that the writers will keep Barney in character whilst showing that he does genuinely care for Robin. At least they better do it right!

Yeah. I can never quite fall for the guys who are TOO romantic/sweet/etc.

I think they'll be able to. I've liked it so far . .. just not the fandom, I guess! :D

They have to be a little cocky, a little sweet, a combination ya know. A lot like...Booth! Uber sweet just isn't realistic.
