"I don't get it," Ted said. "Why do all the women I like choose a life of adventure over me?"
"No offense, Ted, but settling down in New York? That's kind of boring."
"Boring?" Ted said. "New York is the most exciting city in the world!"
"Maybe in this world," Rose said. "But it can't compete with what I've seen."
"Don't you ever want anything more?" Ted asked. "Marriage? Children?"
For a second, Rose's face fell, and Ted thought that maybe, just maybe, she'd stay with him. Maybe he'd finally found the one. But then she smiled, took one last gulp of her drink, and stood up. "I've found more than I ever dreamed of, Ted. I hope you do, too."
