Name: Meredith
How do you spend your days?: I'm a currently unemployed lawyer/theatrical manager, so I do a lot of job-hunting and wandering around on the internet. When I am employed, my posts have a lot to do with Broadway/NYC theatre in general (well, they kind of do even when I'm not working).

What tv shows are you most into right now?: The Good Wife, Bones, Big Bang Theory, Glee (in a love/hate kind of way), Criminal Minds (until impending bad things happen). Halfheartedly watching Grey's Anatomy, Off the Map, Gossip Girl, and Being Human (and Rizzoli & Isles, in summer). Classic favorites are Buffy, The West Wing, and Daria.
How about music?: musical theatre, Sara Bareilles, Stars, The Shins, Ingrid Michaelson, The Weepies, Sister Hazel, Green Day, Lady Gaga.
Books/authors?: Adult fantasy/magical realism: Gregory Maguire, Terry Pratchett, Charles de Lint, Milan Kundera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Carlos Ruiz Zafon. YA fantasy: Tamora Pierce, Libba Bray, Patricia C. Wrede, Diane Duane. Poetry: Emily Dickinson, e.e. cummings, Bruce Snider, Yeats, W.H. Auden.
Movies?: I'm not much of a movie person, but I do like animated ones of all stripes (recently Wall-E, How to Train Your Dragon, Secret of Kells) and smart comedies. I tend to see movies for actors more than anything.
Any other interests you'd like to share?: Tons of theatre, of course. Academic nerdery like foreign languages and technology. LGBT/polyamory issues. Sometimes law, politics, and international relations, but ironically law school kind of burned me out on that stuff.

Describe the contents of your most recent LJ post (in however much detail you're comfortable with): I'm trying to get back into posting after a very long hiatus, so I've been attempting (and failing hardcore) to complete one of those 30-day memes, plus some daily life updates.
What kind of friends are you looking for? (Fans of a particular show? People who want to talk books? Movie lovers?): I don't post a ton about fandom, unless it's musical theatre or sometimes books, but I'm happy to comment on other peoples' posts about shared interests! I'd like any new friends, really - I like getting to know people and talking about everything from RL to fandom to academia.
How often do you read your flist? Post? Comment? Basically, how much are you around?: As I mentioned, I'm trying to post regularly again, but I'm not back in the habit yet and new friends should probably be prepared to be patient with me on that front. I do read and comment frequently, often daily.
Anything else?: I wish I had an amusing .gif to put here, but sadly I do not. Imagine one for me?
