So I just finished the latest Princess Mia by Meg Cabot. It ended up being one of my favorite of the series! Has anyone else read it? I know some of you read Meg Cabot sometimes . . .
So, by the end, I was okay with Mia making out with JP, but she has to ultimately end up with Michael, right? I mean, that romance has been there for the entire series. I think they were right to break up, but the next book is the last one and I want them to get a happy ending!
It was so cool to see Mia become friends with Lana. Because in real life the "mean girl" isn't really that horrible of a person, but you don't get to see that in fiction very often.
And Lilly! I liked that, too, because Lilly really hasn't been a good friend to Mia, and it's good to see Mia realize that--and also to realize who her real friends are. I kind of wish Michael had been around for that part, though. It would be interesting to see how he would've dealt with a conflict between his sister and the girl he loves (I'm sure he still loves her, whatever Mia thinks).
The Genovia thing was kind of cool, too. Mia's been ambivelent about being a princess, so it seems like that will work out well for her.
Also, despite my conviction that Micheal and Mia need to end up together, I was glad to see her moving on somewhat by the end. I'm not really a fan of the "Oh, I never loved and never will love anyone but you" thing that pops up so often in fiction. So between that and the Lilly thing, I feel like Mia really grew up in this book. She's annoyed me from time to time with her dramatics, but, by the end of this book, I was completely on her side.
Oh, and my sister canceled on me, too! It's like there's some kind of conspiracy. Because both my sister and my friend were really enthusiastic about our plans and both of them fell through. But my sister is coming over tomorrow and I'm sure my friend and I will set up something, too. And now I'm going to watch the last episodes (until . . . ???) of 30 Rock and Grey's Anatomy.
