Fiiiiiic!
So,
wings4music has been writing these awesome ficlets and, well, I'm a copycat. So I wrote some (or, in the case of The OC, found one I'd never posted.)
Guys, the TV season starts tomorrow!!! (Too bad none of these shows will be on!)
Veronica Mars, Logan/Veronica, missing scene from finale
How many people had Logan punched for her? Too many. And yet, Veronica couldn’t help smiling. Beating up a member of the Castle was monumentally stupid, but that was Logan for you.
Then Logan apologized to Piz. She’d forgotten that that, also, was a part of Logan.
And when Piz looked at her and she felt nothing but guilt, she knew what she had to do. “Piz--”
Piz shook his head, leaned forward and kissed her cheek. “Go.”
“I’m--”
“Just go, Veronica.”
She gave him one last look, the nice boy, the type she could never quite choose, and went.
Logan was waiting, just outside the cafeteria. And there were things she should say, apologies both of them should make, but Logan just held out his hand.
She took it.
The OC, set right after 4x04
Seth walked into Ryan’s newest place of employment, nodding his head. “Good location, nice lighting, I approve. How’s the food?”
Ryan looked up from the table he was clearing. “Aren’t you supposed to be in Providence?”
“Well, I was, but Summer has her whole environmental crusade going, so she doesn’t really need me.”
“Uh-huh,” Ryan said, glancing over at the restaurant entrance as another customer came in.
“See, here’s what I don’t get,” Seth said, sitting down at the table Ryan was clearing. “Summer, she starts off as this sweet girl, nice to look at, fun to talk to, that’s all I ever wanted. Then, last year, it turns out that she’s not just hot and popular, she’s a super-genius.”
“Well, I don’t think she’s necessarily—“
“And now she cares about the environment, too!”
“So I hear,” Ryan said, glancing at the entrance once more.
“I mean, she was always too good for me, but now she’s like this super person. Nobody’s good enough for her.”
“Seth . . .”
“She’s going to have to become a nun or something,” Seth said, following Ryan as Ryan carried his tub of dirty dishes over to the counter.
“Summer as a nun?” Ryan asked, eyes still on the front of the restaurant.
“Well, why not? Super-beautiful, super-smart, super-environmentally conscious . . . what’s left but super-religious? Are you even listening?”
“Huh?”
Seth followed Ryan’s gaze to the restaurant entrance. “Are you expecting someone or something?”
“No, of course not. Listen, Summer loves you, that’s not going to change.”
“Yeah, well, we’ll see.” Seth tapped the counter. “I’m going to go home and talk this over with Captain Oats. See you tonight?”
“Yeah,” Ryan said distractedly.
As Seth left the restaurant, he nearly ran into Taylor. “Hey, Taylor, how’s it—“
“Can’t talk now, Seth,” Taylor said, pushing past him. “I have a taco emergency.”
“Ooookay, she’s gotten even weirder,” Seth said, turning to watch Taylor greet Ryan. “Wait a minute, was that a smile?” He stood there for a couple of minutes, watching Ryan and Taylor talk. “Did she just make him laugh?” As Seth walked away from the restaurant, he reached into his pocket for his cell phone.”
“Hey, Summer, I don’t mean to interrupt your mission to save the world, but when you hear what I have to say, I think you’re going to want to talk. Ryan and Taylor. Call me.”
How I Met Your Mother, Barney/Robin, set after s3 finale
Robin was the last one to know, of course. She always was. Lily had her feminine intuition, and what Lily knew, Marshall knew. And Ted, hopeless romantic that he was, always saw the signs in others.
Which left her. Stupid, stupid Robin, last to know that Barney--Barney--was in love with her.
She waited two days before showing up at his door.
“Robin,” he greeted her. And, of course, he knew that she knew. She’d sworn Lily to secrecy, but knew better than to except that promise to hold.
“What the hell do you expect me to do about this?!” Barney opened his mouth. “And don’t you dare say you don’t know what I’m talking about!”
“I wasn’t going to say that,” Barney mumbled. Robin glared. “Fine, look, it’s not like I know what to do about it.”
“Uh, get over it?”
“I tried to,” Barney said softly. He walked over to her and took her hand, turning it over in his. His fingers were warm as they glided all over her skin. “All summer, I tried to.” He let go of her hand and took a step back. “I couldn’t.”
Robin took a deep breath. “You know how stupid this is, right?”
Barney grinned. “Oh, yeah.”
She took a step forward. “I still don’t know what do about this.”
He was only centimeters away. “Me either.”
She grabbed his tie and pulled his face down to hers. “We’ll figure it out later,” she said, right before kissing him.

The first one was perfect. I wish we could have had some scene like that in the actual finale. We were just kind of left hanging. sigh.
The characterization was really perfect in the second one. I could just see that exact scene playing out on the actual show.
Oh, and this made me realize that I really miss Captain Oats. haha
Oh Barney/Robin. <3
I hope there's a scene like this early next season. Gosh, I can't wait.

Yeah, I was always upset that we didn't get Logan/Veronica closure. I finally sat down and wrote some for myself! :)
And, seriously, Captain Oats was one of my favorite character on the OC. Hee! And Princess Sparkle!
I just want SOMETHING to happen with Barney/Robin, as soon as possible. :)

And Barney/Robin! Hee, Robin probably would be the last to know! I love the scenario and well, if it went down like that, I probably wouldn't complain. ;)
Thanks so much for these--glad you went for them!

Hee, I know we'll probably have to wait a while for real Barney/Robin, but in my head they can be together. :)
So glad you liked them! I'm glad I went for them, too. Took me a while to get started, but, once I did, I had a lot of fun. :)

And B/R thing just made me smile like the show always does. Awww. <3

Yeah, now we just need the show back to see what's really going to happen between Barney & Robin. :)

I've been watching a lot of The OC lately, so maybe I'll get inspired to write some Seth/Summer one of these days. They were always my favorite. :)

I've only seen all of the 1st and 2nd seasons of the OC, but I definitely remember Seth's voice and you seem to have hit it.
And of course, your HIMYM was perfect!

And, hee, I loved Captain Oats!
