Jul. 3rd, 2007 10:08 pmDon't you hate it when a book you think you're going to love ends up disappointing you? I recently finished The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz. It's about a wacky family of private investigators and I thoroughly enjoyed the first 3/4th or so of the book. It's well written and made me laugh out loud (which isn't easy to do), but I just feel it took a couple of wrong turns at the end, which put the whole book in a bad light for me. One plotline got way too serious for the book it was in. It felt exactly like when my sister used to take jokes too far.
Anyway, it's back to my great Harry Potter re-read.
