1. Proof that I'm not so smart: I got a new debit card in the mail and was very confused. Why were they sending me this thing??? Um, yeah. I finally got around to looking at my old card and it expires this month. So I grabbed my phone to activate it . . . and started punching in my card number, not the phone number.

2. Lots of Fox premiere dates!
Here's what I deem important:
Dollhouse premieres February 13 at 9. (SO far away! Ugh, and a Friday. Friday the 13th, no less! Fox, I'm watching you.)
American Idol is back January 13 and 14. (Two hours each night!)
24 also gets two two hour nights on January 11 and 12.
Bones moves to 8 on Thursdays starting January 15.
House moves to Mondays at 8 starting January 19.
And for the Sarah Connor fans, it'll be moving to Fridays at 8 on January 13.

I'm rather bummed about Dollhouse being on Fridays. I try not to be one of those "OMG! FOX IS OUT TO KILL ALL SCI-FI SHOWS!" kind of fan, but really?

And, wow, that's a lot of TV I'm planning on adding to my schedule. Is that wise?

3. TV Guide says there's going to be a Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice crossover.

4. 7186 words. I got distracted by a computer game today . . . which is why I normally try to avoid them!

5. The Office )

Grey's Anatomy (some ranting here . . . beware!) )

30 Rock was awesome!

1. [livejournal.com profile] wings4music wrote an re-mix of my recent HIMYM fic and you should all go read it here because it's awesome.

2. And I finished my character meme answers, which makes me awesome, too. (But feel free to request more!)

3. About crossword puzzles and presidential candidates. (It made me laugh!)

4. School starts on Monday (so late! I know!). Mostly I'm excited, but I'm not entirely sure I'm ready to get back in the mindset of class, homework, having things to do other than watch TV and surf the internet . . .

5. I thought I wasn't excited for The Office, but two hours before it began, I started running around my apartment, cleaning and organizing, because I was too impatient to sit still!

The Office!!!!! )

Grey's Anatomy )

In my unofficial and just made up The Office vs. Grey's Anatomy competition, The Office wins!

Also, my mom didn't send me any of her thoughts on Grey's Anatomy. This makes me sad.

ETA: You all suck because not nearly enough of you are talking about The Office. I HATE YOU! (Okay, no, I love each and everyone of you. But WATCH THE OFFICE!)

1. Everyone who's as disappointed as I am about what didn't happen in The Office season finale needs to watch this.

2. From TV Guide HIMYM Casting Spoiler )

3.Bones )

Have you guys seen the hilarious Bones previews??? Here and here. I love this show!

Meanwhile, Rainn Wilson is still holding Jenna Fischer hostage.

I'm getting a little burned out on the Olympics (um, unsurprising, considering I'm still watching it almost constantly), but I don't think there's much I want to see next week, so I'll be okay. Spoilers for tonight's swimming and gymnastics )
katayla: (Default)
Rainn Wilson is crazy. But I probably still won't see The Rocker.

All caught up on the Olympics and impatiently waiting for swimming and gymnastics!

I got distracted from re-reading Stephenie Meyer by TV. Lots of it. This last two days I've done little besides watch The O.C., Bones, How I Met Your Mother, Wonderfalls, and Veronica Mars. Fun times!
katayla: (Default)
This is somwhat random, but Comic-Con coverage has reminded me of things and I can't sleep so . . .

Why I'm mad at Bones, Brothers & Sisters, and The Office (spoilers for all three season finales) )

Agree? Disagree? Have something that will make me feel better? Or that will help me fall asleep?
katayla: (Default)
First of all, check out this Dollhouse clip. I'm so exited for this show and so bummed it's not going to be on until midseason!

The Office )

Lost )

Grey's Anatomy )

My apartment is really hot. I've been telling my friends from Texas (for some reason, lots of people from Texas seem to end up at my school) that you don't really need air conditioners here in western Washington, but I think my apartment's trying to disprove that.

The Office )

Also, I think my mom just spoiled me for Grey's Anatomy. Well, not really, but what's she doing e-mailing me in the middle of the show? Especially since I'm not watching it until later.

Lost )

Grey's Anatomy )

I also watched 30 Rock and Scrubs. I always feel so accomplished when I finish Thursday night TV. There's just so much of it! I'm kind of tired here and it's nearly one, but I think I'm to squeeze in another episode of How I Met Your Mother anyway. Aren't addictions fun?
katayla: (Default)
The Office )

I suppose I'll post again later about Lost and maybe Grey's Anatomy, but I was too eager to talk about The Office to wait!

I love TV. I know, I know. That's an obvious statement coming from me, but it's something I've been wanting to say. It seems like I've read so many negative comments about TV shows lately (not here) and they irritate me. Sure, things happen on TV I don't like and sometimes I say so, but, for the most part, when I talk about TV, I want to talk about things like how cute Jim or Pam are or what the heck is going on with Lost? Sometimes it seems like I'm the only one who feels that way. It's one of the reasons I've never been able to get super-into fandom. Eventually, things seem to descend into a bitching session, and that's just not why I watch TV. I watch TV because I enjoy it. I love getting wrapped up in a story and invested in characters' lives. And (despite what some people think) I really do know it's "just a TV show." My life isn't ruined when my favorite character dies or my favorite couple breaks up.

I certainly don't suggest living your entire life this way, but when it comes to TV, can't we live by the "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" rule?

Which I guess means that if I don't talk about one of my shows this week, I didn't enjoy it as much as usual. Or else that i just forgot about it, which probably amounts to about the same thing.

American Idol )

Scrubs )

The Office )

Lost )

I haven't watched Grey's Anatomy yet. I went to bed after Lost, but then couldn't sleep. Hey, at least my intentions were good.
katayla: (Default)
The Office )

I desperately want to blow off my weekend and watch all of The Office. Again. Maybe just a couple of episodes?
katayla: (Default)
I had a friend over tonight, which meant I didn't watch the American Idol results until 10. No big deal, right? I was pretty sure Syesha was the one going.

American Idol spoilers )

Ugh. And my real life American Idol friend didn't watch yet. Did you all watch? Are you all asleep now? Will someone please talk to me about this?

Other events: I was blissfully happy about 30 Rock, The Office and Scrubs, all of which had great episodes.

A seminar discussion this morning about the internet and privacy prompted me to set my MySpace to private (something I should've done a long time ago) and I just got an e-mail from my mom asking me why I made it private. Freaky.

It's taken a long time, but I'm finally, finally on board with David Cook. I always liked his music, but something about him rubbed me the wrong way. Now? He's grown on me. (Or so I say! I hope I feel the same way next week.)

Kristy's grown on me, too! She's handled constantly being in the bottom three with so much grace and I think her voice has improved a lot, too.

Carly looked really pretty tonight. (And Ryan was mean to her!)

My problem with Syesha is I always forget she's even in the competition. During the group sing, I literally thought, "Oh yeah, her."

I'm the same height as Ramiele and it's always a shock to see how short she (and, by extension me) is next to everyone else. Even Ryan towers over her!

I never expected to hear "This Little Light of Mine" as a country song or on American Idol. In my head, that song is a kid's Christian song. The main guy in the band looked vaguely familiar to me. I wonder why . . .

I really, really want to be friends with Jason.

And sneaking in a non-American Idol thought: The Office really is getting a spin off? I love and adore The Office, but really? It's not a concept show, like Buffy or Star Trek. I'm not sure they could make another show about an office that would be different and interesting.

I didn't think I'd be able to focus long enough to get much done, but I ended up colliding several characters, which helped me clarify some backstories. So, yay!

A couple of random Grey's Anatomy's thoughts )

And some Scrubs thoughts )

And The Office was good tonight, too. I think this TV season has ended up with lots of shows I love on Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday and not a whole lot I watch the rest of the week.
