I guess we're all posting on the first? New month and all! Though I suppose it's no longer the first for most of you.

Anyway, I'm still thinking up lots of entries in my head and not posting them. And not doing as well with keeping up with my flist as I'd like (though I do read it all).

I'm watching the Olympics, but I feel a lot less into them than I usually am. Some of that might be watching so much on live streaming, but I was thinking about it and this is probably the first Olympics since 2006 where I can't just sit around and watch them all day. I mean, the tape delay is annoying, but NBC always tape delays the west coast (even when, like in Vancouver, the Olympics are taking ON the west coast). I used to be able to watch live on CBC (Canadian channel), but they don't play them on that channel anymore, soooooo sad. I really loved that coverage.

Speaking of the Olympics and time delays, does anyone know a good live blog for the Olympics? Or a good Twitter account to follow for updates? I have to work tomorrow during the gymnastics, so I can't watch on live streaming and I just don't think I'll be able to avoid spoilers all day.

Speaking of Canada (uh, sort of), the Mariners just swept the Toronto Blue Jays . . . and had previously swept the Royals . . . which means they've won 7 games in a row. Their last 7 game win streak was in 2007! AND Eric Thames (who the Mariners traded Steve Delabar for) hit a home run in his first game for the Mariners. It is clearly way too soon to call, but that could end up being a very nice trade for us. Anyway, it seems like the Mariners might be finally figuring stuff out, so that's great. This is supposed to be the season when all the young guys are up and the team start coming together, and it looks like that might finally be happening.

Annnnd I should probably go ahead and post this. Early days at work tomorrow and today!

Is anyone else watching the Olympic diving? Haven't seen anyone else talking about it, but I've been enjoying it and tonight . . .

Diving spoilers )

1. Check out the frame-by-frame of the 100m butterfly. Michael Phelps is just magic. I've never seen anything like this. It seems impossible for anyone to beat him.

2. Congrats to Canada for all of a sudden winning a bunch of medals! As a reward (or is that punishment?), my sister is visiting you today. (According to my sister, she's "hearing people say 'eh.' " I don't know the real reason.)

3. I watched the trampoline events this afternoon, which is one of those awesome events I just barely believe is real.

4. Olympic swimming spoilers )

5. ETA: Spoilers for the 100m (in Track & Field? Athletics? World, let's get this straight )

Have you guys seen the hilarious Bones previews??? Here and here. I love this show!

Meanwhile, Rainn Wilson is still holding Jenna Fischer hostage.

I'm getting a little burned out on the Olympics (um, unsurprising, considering I'm still watching it almost constantly), but I don't think there's much I want to see next week, so I'll be okay. Spoilers for tonight's swimming and gymnastics )

Rainn Wilson is crazy. But I probably still won't see The Rocker.

All caught up on the Olympics and impatiently waiting for swimming and gymnastics!

I cried watching the Chinese win men's gymnastics. What is it about these games???

1. It's probably a good thing I'm NOT much of a sports fan. I'm just BARELY surviving all this excitement watching the swimming!

2. No matter what the commentators say, no matter how far he is ahead, I don't believe it until Phelps actually finishes the race.

3. But, on the other hand, at this point, I just barely believe it's even possible for anyone to beat him.

4. The Canadian commentators were speculating that Phelps's personal goal is eight world records. He's sure on his way to that!

ETA:
5. I really hope Katie Hoff gets a gold.

AHHHHHH!!! THE OLYMPICS MADE ME SCREAM LIKE CRAZY!!!!! I CAN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I WAS THIS EXCITED!!!!!!

(THANKS YOU CBC FOR LETTING ME SEE EVENTS LIVE EVEN THOUGH I DON'T LIVE IN CANADA!)

I've watched so many hours of the Olympics today! Mostly the CBC coverage since NBC shows hardly anything live (and even when it IS "live", it isn't on the west coast). Of course, thanks to How I Met Your Mother, I find it hilarious every time they say "about." (Sorry, Canadians. Blame HIMYM!)

And, okay, Michael Phelps (cut since it hasn't aired everywhere) )

But now I'm caught up on all of it, so I'm going to going to take a bath and read . . . I know there's stuff on now, but if I watched it, I'd have to watch commercials and I've been a TiVo owner for too long to be able to deal with those.
