YOU GUYS, I JUST WANT TO POST BASELBALLLLLL! BASEBALLLLLLL! The Mariners are on pace for 162-0! (Isn't the beginning of the season fun???) And, like, I know it'll probably all crash and burn soon enough, so I'm trying to enjoy the winning while I can!

So there's a game at 11 on Wednesday and it's a Felix start, so I'm VERY GRUMPY that I'll probably be at work. Probably because I kind of think the job won't last till the scheduled end date (Friday)? Not that they've told us that, but they hired a lot more people than they expected, so. Anyway, my point is FELIXXXXX. (Even though I'd feel the same way about Bedard and Pineda! Yesterday I realized that I actually really like our rotation this year, which is kind of an amazing feeling, since, by the end of last year, ughhh.)

I have to go to my cousin's daughter's sixth birthday party tomorrow, which I didn't find out about until tonight (I've told my mom I like to know these things in advance! I do have plans, even if they don't involve leaving the house, you know? I mean, I did find out about the party, I think, yesterday, but not that I was expected to go.) And, besides, she can't possibly be turning six. That's so old!

I was reminded tonight that there is a character on Sanctuary named after my high school. And, I mean, my high school is probably the only one with that name. SO. I forget if I ever found out how that happened.

And, oops, in the same category as, "how is my cousin's daughter six?", how is after midnight??? Off to bed!

The Mariners got a triple play today! Like, not hit into one, but were on the proper side of it! So there's one thing I can hopefully remember from this season! Oh, and they won. It's funny how that really is an afterthought for me these days. SIGH. Lost seasons, what are you going to do?

It's weird to me that our manager/all those other guys are just gone.

Anyway. I slept weird last night (though the puppy decided to jump up with me in the early morning, so that was fun!) and between that and all this Mariners news, it's been a weird day!

Also, my elbow hurts! I think it's from the repetitive work my online job requires, plus being on my computer for writing and all my fun stuff, but BOO. I keep thinking I should take a day off from the computer, but LIKE THAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN.

. . . I need to catch up on sleep.

Posting separately and behind a cut, in case gifs slow down anyone else's computer like they do mine. But. Anyway. This happened in the Mariners game. And you will (probably) appreciate it no matter how much (little) interest you have in baseball.

This is supposed to be our best pitcher. )

Copied from [livejournal.com profile] danceinacircle:

Userpics and Scrapbook images may load intermittently over the next few days, as announced here: http://community.livejournal.com/lj_maintenance/126307.html

I'm already seeing a flood of requests coming into Userpics, so do me and the Scrapbook admins ([livejournal.com profile] tinyjo and [livejournal.com profile] elyssa) a favor, and spread the word! The more people know about this, the fewer requests come in, and the less stress we all have.

So, dear friends . . . should I work on homework or edit the How I Met Your Mother fic I accidentally wrote during class?

Gossip Girl Friending Meme

I always decide not to do anymore of these and then find one I can't resist! So . . . welcome new friends! Feel free to ask me anything and jump into all the insanity.

TV SHOWS FRIENDING MEME

It's been a while since I've filled one of these out, but I'm all for new friends as we enter the TV season. (Bones, One Tree Hill, and Gossip Girl next week!!!)

So, hello to new friends. Feel free to jump into all the fun and ask me anything you want to know. I'm at LastFM and rather short of friends there, so you're welcome to add me there, too.

Now . . . back to my Jacqueline Carey obsession. (Anyone else read her? She's amazing!)

1. I've been wearing skirts lately. Which is a little unusual for me. (Although I own a bunch . . . what's up with that?) I don't really like my legs and I don't like people commenting on my ankle tattoo (it's like when people tell me "Wow, you're really short!" Yes, I know I'm short. I know I have a tattoo. Let's move on, please.) . . . but apparently I'm over both of those things now. Or at least I've wised up to the fact that skirts are a fabulous clothing choice in hot weather! A much wiser choice than the jeans I've spent previous summers in. So today I'm wearing this skirt that feels really, really short. It's not. It's barely above my knees. But shorter than my other skirts! Anyway, I think I should run out and buy a bunch more skirts. Except for not, since I don't have money, especially since . . .

2. I totally broke down and bought the first two Diana Peterfreund books. I read Rites of Spring (Break) last night and it was great, and I want to read the entire series over again (and complain about the year long wait for the next book!). Anyway, these are great books! Chick lit about a college secret society. Lots of fun and a romance the author herself compares to Logan & Veronica. I'm picky about new books these days. I read a lot and enjoy pretty much everything I finish (so everything listed here), but these books are among the few that I can put in the "love" category.

3. And all of that means that, even though yesterday I said I was going to spend all day watching TV and I really did plan to clean my apartment as well, I've devoted my day to reading Diana Peterfreund's blog instead.

4. A pretty darn accurate quiz )

The lonely part isn't true anymore, so maybe I'm on my way to the ruling the world part?

I've been doing homework this afternoon. My grand plan is to do as much as possible today, thus freeing up my weekend for nothing but How I Met Your Mother and Stephenie Meyer's new book (which I haven't even bought yet). I'm not sure how well this will work because, no matter how much I accomplish today, I'll still have my programming project to work on and a test on Monday, and I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to go to my parents' on Sunday for Mother's Day (which suggests I should probably get off my butt and get my mom a present).

But wouldn't it be cool if I could do nothing but read and watch HIMYM this weekend?

I wrote up a list this morning of "Things to Do" because yesterday I accomplished almost nothing. And it helped a LOT. So much so that I've already finished everything on the list (even the fun stuff!) and it's not quite five, so now I feel at loose ends.

Ah, well. I suppose I'll go back to my book.

HBO doesn't let you legally download or stream its shows, does it? I really want to see the John Adams miniseries.

Apparently, I'm kind of clueless. I've been sitting near a window, working on a paper. I need more paper and I start thinking maybe I should go now because it's supposed to snow tonight and then I bother to actually look out the window, and, hey! It's snowing now! And the ground is white, which means it's probably been snowing for a while and I've just been oblivious.

I desperately want a MacBook Air. I know I can't really afford it, but I have more than enough credit for it and this is one of those times it's hard to resist.

And to continue with the Mac theme, I was sitting in class with my MacBook, as usual, and this guy who I don't really know asks me, "Is that a girl computer?"

Okay, now, it generally takes a lot to offend me, but that did the trick! What kind of question is that? And there's at least one guy in the class who has the exact same computer! So, no, it's not a girl computer. There's no such thing as a girl computer!

It's Saturday night and I'm doing homework, watching first season One Tree Hill, and e-mailing my mom about Grey's Anatomy.

Clearly, I lead a very hip and happening life.
katayla: (Default)
I've planned out ever so many brilliant posts. All about school, tv, the weather, riding the bus, my lack of sleep . . . but the homework was piled on from day one and I'm saving all my energy for that. I think I'll write up a massive post this weekend.

Random: Does anyone else subscribe to TV Guide? I didn't get an issue last week and I haven't gotten this week's yet, either. Is it just me?
katayla: (Default)
I typed my name into the iTunes search thing. Lots of songs have been written about me! I kind of want to buy all of them.

1. I guess I better go shopping this weekend and buy some sweaters. I hate shopping. I'm cheap, picky, and it's hard to find things that fit, but I've been living in t-shirts and it's gotten way too cold for that to be comfortable.
2. Cuddy should start sleeping with House. Because then she could make him do (or not do) anything simply by withholding sex.
3. I keep forgetting it's Halloween. And then a guy in bunny ears walks buy.
4. I need to work on my essay instead of coming up with more items for this list.

You know those signs that tell you to go 25 mph around a bend? Yeah, pay attention to them. At least when it's wet out. This morning, getting on the onramp, my car slid and spun. I stopped it right away, so nothing bad happened--except I was suddenly faced in the wrong direction!--but it was incredibly scary.

Is it okay that I use proper grammar? Not here, but when responding to my sister's text messages or a (young) old church friend's messages? Because they don't pay any attention to grammar at all, but I can't help it. Do I need to take lessons to forget how to use capitalization and punctuation? Is my sending grammatically correct text messages socially incorrect?
