I love you, Office

1.
wings4music wrote an re-mix of my recent HIMYM fic and you should all go read it here because it's awesome.
2. And I finished my character meme answers, which makes me awesome, too. (But feel free to request more!)
3. About crossword puzzles and presidential candidates. (It made me laugh!)
4. School starts on Monday (so late! I know!). Mostly I'm excited, but I'm not entirely sure I'm ready to get back in the mindset of class, homework, having things to do other than watch TV and surf the internet . . .
5. I thought I wasn't excited for The Office, but two hours before it began, I started running around my apartment, cleaning and organizing, because I was too impatient to sit still!
OH MY GOSH!!! THAT HAPPENED, RIGHT???? IT WASN'T JUST MY DELUSIONAL LITTLE BRAIN?????
I read the Ausiello spoiler that said something momentous happened between Jim and Pam in the rain, but I thought he meant way in the future!!! NOT IN THE SEASON PREMIERE!!!
YAY!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, other and other stuff happened:
Holly and Michael really are perfect for each other.
And pooooor Andy. He really does love Angela and she only "likes him very much."
And, uh, I only finished the episode, like, 30 seconds ago, but I forgot everything else that happened.
JIM AND PAM ARE ENGAGED!!!!!
Um, when it snows in Seattle, the whole city freaks out, shuts down, and really bad things happen. I demand an episode about that.
Cristina/Awesome-major-dude-whose-name-I-already-forget-even-though-I-specifically-told-myself-to-remember-it are my new favorite Grey's ship! Cristina is WAY overdue for some action, as well as a major story arc.
I think I like Callie/Erica after all. I was frustrated with it last season, since Callie was SO established as straight, but, since they're dealing with that aspect with it, I'm all for it.
Lexie should hook up with Mark instead of George. Their scenes were cute!
Why wasn't Derek supportive like this last year? In my opinion, HE was the problem, not Meredith. Not that she doesn't/didn't have her issues, but Derek was "Mr. All or nothing" guy and now he's willing to go at her pace? Seriously, I want HIS issues dealt with.
I really don't need to see Denny anymore. For a moment, I thought all the rumors were true, and Izzie had died. Then it would've been okay.
I think they're actually, finally going somewhere with Alex. I mean, I know he was kind of a jerk tonight, but he had his (screwed up!) reasons and maybe they're finally going to address them.
In my unofficial and just made up The Office vs. Grey's Anatomy competition, The Office wins!
Also, my mom didn't send me any of her thoughts on Grey's Anatomy. This makes me sad.
ETA: You all suck because not nearly enough of you are talking about The Office. I HATE YOU! (Okay, no, I love each and everyone of you. But WATCH THE OFFICE!)

Date: 2008-09-26 07:46 am (UTC)Anywho, I loved the army/surgeon dude (who's name I can't remember, either) but I honestly got pissed at all his interaction with Cristina. Yeah, I saw the sparks and it was amusing but I kept thinking 'no, she belongs with Burke! He's kickass too!' Obviously, I miss Burke and want him back. =P
I never understood the Derek hate, b/c I always thought it was mostly Mer's fault. Sure, I found him annoying and maybe a little bland, but I didn't hate the guy. And yet, in this episode I wanted to punch him. I'm strange.
Lexie should hook up with Mark instead of George. Their scenes were cute!
STFU. Lexie does deserve better than George. Mark and Lexie's scenes were cute. Yes, I wondered if they were just going to do it or not. BUT MARK DOESN'T GET ANYONE THAT ISN'T A RANDOM NURSE WHO'LL DISAPPEAR COME THE NEXT EPISODE, ME, OR IZZIE. OTHERWISE, I'M NOT HEARING IT. Okay, but Mark would be a better choice. I missed Mark so much, btw! I love him so much.
Given that it was a two hour premiere, I thought it wasn't enough Alex. I was thinking that finally they were taking him somewhere, but his storyline was not fleshed out enough. They could've done so much more there, but alas...but it's better to have signs of something rather than nothing.
I don't really know what to think of the premiere yet. On one hand, it got pretty stupid sometimes (the icicle, the redundant "#12" mentions) and on the other hand, we had the Mer/Cristina flashforward ("What would happen to me without you?" - "You'd starve." or something to that effect, was awesome). I don't know, I don't know.
And the Denny bit made me cry. As soon as Izzie stepped into that elevator, I thought 'oh, crap, if they do some idiotic Denny bit' but it wasn't idiotic for me and I began crying. I began wishing that Shonda had done a reset. That Izzie had a terrible 'what if Denny died' scenario playing in her head that caused this terrible domino effect. But that was just my brain going into overdrive and getting delusional. So instead there was no series reset, Denny's still dead, Gizzie still happened, & Alex still broke Addison's heart.
And thus ends the longest comment ever. Sue me if I want to distract myself from the ever-boring paper I'm doing last minute b/c I can write a two-page paper within an hour anyway. =P
Don't cut me for my nonsensical randomness. :( I LOVE YOU.

Date: 2008-09-26 08:13 am (UTC)And now you get nonsensical ramblings because I should be in bed, but I checked my e-mail instead, and, well, yeah . . . :D
Okay, I LOVED Burke/Cristina to death. They were my Grey's OTP. But I love Cristina more and I know Burke's never ever ever ever ever coming back (which SUCKS!), so . . . I want Cristina to have someone!
Oh gosh, I'm the strange one, I think, for being on Meredith's side so much! I know most people don't like her (and, yes, I did want her to SHUT UP, thank you Cristina), but I do feel like she tried. But, yeah, neither she or Derek are that great. (So maybe they belong together, after all!)
Haha, but I WANT Mark to get a real love interest! Maybe you can somehow get on the show and take care of that for me? ;)
There's NEVER enough Alex.
Yeah, I did mostly like the premiere, certainly more than most of the last couple of seasons, but it wasn't with out its flaws.
I actually didn't like Denny much, so that's part of it. (DON'T HATE ME! I KNOW EVERYONE LOVES HIM.) Although I love that I thought maybe Izzie died and you thought of a reset. It just felt like that kind of a moment.
Um, and now please don't cut me for rambling back at you. *runs off to bed*

Date: 2008-09-27 04:20 am (UTC)I know Burke won't ever return. Probably. Sorry, I still have the insiest, silliest hope that he'll return. Even though that's near impossible. And yeah, Cristina definitely needs her own man (even if I couldn't stand her last season, she can still be kickass). So fine, she can get the new kickass guy. They'll be awesome together. ;)
Mark needs an actual storyline, PERIOD! And a real love interest could totally help in that department! AND I WOULD SO TAKE CARE OF IT IF I WOULD JUST BOINK SHONDA OVER THE HEAD AND TAKE OVER THE SHOW. Hey, someone else threw out that idea, not me!
Oh, I was far from Denny's biggest fan. When he appeared, I still had a soft spot for Izzie/Alex (& who didn't?). The Izzie falling for a patient was very 'oy vey' for me. But her prom dress fiasco killed me. But mostly, what killed me was the moment last season when Izzie could feel Denny next to her and for like five seconds they stood next to each other. KILLED ME. And yeah, I knew some ppl would think Izzie had died. Either her death or a reset would've been fine with me, honestly. Yeah, I'm a bad person!
I rambled again. Shit. I COULD NEVER CUT YOU. But I fear my strange (LONG) rambling puts me at risk. o_O

Date: 2008-09-27 06:24 am (UTC)Truthfully, I did lose a lot of my Burke love when he left Cristina at the altar. And that whole thing with the article last season . . . AND GR! It just kills me that none of that would've (probably) happened if it weren't for the offscreen stuff!
Oh, true, Mark just needs SOMETHING TO DO! I mean, I love his conversations with Derek and the stuff with Lexie last night, but COME ON! This is his third season on the show and he's never had a real storyline. Even that stuff with Addison never went anywhere.
YES. That moment last season with Izzie/Denny DID get me, even with me not being the biggest fan of them are their relationship. SO, SEE? I'm not heartless! But if they go to the Denny stuff too often, they're going to risk cheapening it.
Haha, well, not at risk from me! I love your rambling! :)

i am not that excited about grey's though.. i don't know, last season was so dull and disappointing, i just don't know what to expect from this season.
I see this sentence from your entry: I think they're actually, finally going somewhere with Alex.
well that is good news, because they totally wasted him last season. They wasted pretty much everyone by drowning us with the silly problems of grey. i hope she gets better this season, because i won't be able to take anymore of "omg do i love mcdreamy or not" drama.

Date: 2008-09-26 08:16 am (UTC)Yeah, I do feel like most of the Grey's characters get wasted. There's so many of them and they keep adding new ones. I'd love to get to know more about people like Alex and Mark, who are both especially under-utilized. :(

Date: 2008-09-26 05:55 pm (UTC)Michael and Holly are perfect for each other, even if he's still utterly clueless, what with the whole ripping the tickets up thing. I also loved Holly and Oscar being friends.

Date: 2008-09-26 06:16 pm (UTC)Oh, poor Michael. But I think Holly is much more capable to deal with his cluelessness than Jan ever was.

Date: 2008-09-26 06:27 pm (UTC)omg Jim and Pam!!
And yea The Office SO WINS over Greys. But it always kind of does for me anyway. I always watch The Office live and then record Greys and watch it afterwards for that reason.
I think I like Callie/Erica after all. I was frustrated with it last season, since Callie was SO established as straight, but, since they're dealing with that aspect with it, I'm all for it.
I think of it as they're both just 2's on the Kinsey scale. Are you familiar with that? Where 6 is totally gay and 0 is totally straight. If you're a 2 you could call yourself straight or bi. Meaning that you find the same sex attracive but it's entirely possible that you'd never meet a person that would make you want to explore that. It depends.
I kind of got the Lexie/Mark vibes too. Although I think her crush on George is pretty cute.
Yea, while a part of me liked seeing Denny when he appeared I literally said out loud to myself "They're really milking this to death aren't they?" haha

Date: 2008-09-26 06:41 pm (UTC)Yeah, I always watch The Office first, too. Most Grey's best moments seem to be in the past, but The Office keeps them coming!
I'm a little familiar with the Kinsey scale, and that does make sense. I think they're handling Callie/Erica well, since it's not just jumping into a relationship. Or maybe it will be because this show always does that, but at least we got to see the freak out first! :)
I do like Lexie/George more than most of George's romances, but Mark teasing her was so much fun. Maybe we can get a new love triangle?
I think that's it. I know Denny was important to Izzie and all, but it's been a long time, and we've already seen him several times. Time to move on.

Date: 2008-09-27 01:01 pm (UTC)Lexie & Mark!! ~~~~~~~~ made of win.
AND CRISTINA/HUNT! DUDE! THAT WAS MAJOR! it's gonna be great this season. My faith in this show is totally restored.
Do you know what's gonna happen to Izzie/Heigl. I've very away from the gossip on that matter. Is she 100 % leaving the show or what?

Date: 2008-09-27 06:10 pm (UTC)Yeah! Lexie/Mark and Cristina/Hunt are going to be AWESOME! Finally, some couples I can root for again!
Everyone always says Izzie is staying. I guess I just don't always believe them.
