Yeah! And specifically I had a really hard time with the two Johns thing the first time I watched Farscape. How could Aeryn be with one while the other one was still out there? And then how could she be with the other one after watching one John die? It took me a really long time to wrap my brain around it.
But I think going through all of that with Farscape made me instantly like the DW ending much better than I would've otherwise. Because Rose DID get her Doctor, you know? He's the same man she fell in love with, just human. And even though it's weird, I think seeing John & Aeryn go through a similar situation (that I actually think was worse) made me feel like "Well, yeah it's a happy ending for the Doctor and Rose." If that makes sense. :)
I actually find Doctor Who a little reminiscent of Farscape, at least in tone. They both have the same sense of insanity.
I agree! And I think they have the same sense of wonder. With shows like Star Trek, aliens and space are normal. But John and (most of) the Doctor's Companions are like us, with the "Wow! Aliens! Time travel!"
