So I'm still planning a massive LJ post, but, in the meantime, I watched some new TV, so might as well talk about it, yes?

I'm just not that into this show anymore. More and more, I'm feeling like soaps should only run for a couple of years. Because it's so hard to care anymore. The whole thing with Bailey's son? Yeah, totally didn't affect me. Guess I'm just a robot like Cristina.

And Derek and Meredith. Oh my gosh. Come on, already! And I'm with Meredith. Derek doesn't want her, he just wants someone. If he wanted her, he'd be more patient with her. And not go after Rose immediately after they broke up.

And I still don't buy all the Dr. Hahn hating on Cristina. And why is it such a bad thing that Cristina is a "robot"? I mean, she's detached and Izzie gets overly involved. There's nothing wrong with either of them! It means they're suited for very different things, but it's not like one approach is the "correct" one.

Random things:
1. Are George and Lexie going to live together now? This show is worse than Friends with the living arrangements!
2. Okay, even my super-religious mom would be okay with George and Callie divorcing. At least, I think she would be . She watched the show, so I suppose I'll hear about it eventually.
3. Is it bad that I totally thought there should be a Callie/Mark/Hahn threesome twice during the episode? I'm still not into the Hahn/Mark pairing, though.
4. Not impressed with the faith healer storyline.
5. I like that they still make references to Alex's feelings for Izzie. I don't think they'll ever really go there again, but it was a storyline I enjoyed back then.
6. I'm not a fan of the "accidentally tell someone something you thought they already knew" cliche and they used it twice in this episode.

This is the most random show ever and I love it! I mean, other shows have some explanation for singing--a demon, it's all in a patient's head--but 30 Rock just lets them sing. No explanation required.

And recreational whale torture! And Richard Gilmore was in the episode!

Except for this episode made me feel ashamed of myself for remembering so little of my five years of German!

Also, I'm totally going to watch Eli Stone. I've known this for a while because, come on, Victor Garber's in it! That means I'm automatically required to check out at least one episode. And I've heard good things about, but tonight was the first preview I saw, and it looks like a fun, crazy show! With Victor Garber. I so need to pull out my Alias DVDs.

This episode sucked. In the not so subtle way of SUCKING. You're right, the "oopsie" tool was used far too often, and with little finesse. Couldn't have cared less about Bailey, and coming from poor ol' weepy me, that's something. The whole thing felt formulaic and tired. I was still into mer/der, I still want it to be them, but for god's sake, how lame is it for him to throw down housing plans!? This stupid breakup crap. I'm so tired of it. This season is leaving me unmoved. I am no longer walking to the mountain. The damn mountain better work it's ass off and come to me.

OH! And what the hell was up with the direction? I don't know who directed this, but it was awful, that was half the suckage right there. The whole production felt off, the music, the editing, the focus/lighting. Just felt weird, sparce and the emotional notes were not there. Also, I'm not all together certain Bailey can handle these story lines. I just didn't feel her this episode.

GUH.

Oh, and um...yes. There should be threesome hottness.

Okay, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who felt that way! I read some other reactions after I posted this and they were positive, so I keep feeling like it's me and not the show.

The whole thing felt formulaic and tired.

That's exactly it! I feel like we've just seen all of it before. And you could argue that the first couple seasons were formulaic, too, but they were done so well that it didn't matter.

I always say I don't notice direction, but I must on some level because it did feel "off" to me, especially the music! Normally the show is so on with the music and it just wasn't there last night.

Also, I'm not all together certain Bailey can handle these story lines. I just didn't feel her this episode.

*whispers* Me, too. It feels like blasphemy saying that because there's so much love out there for Bailey, but I think she works better a little more in the background. To a certain extent, I don't want her humanized. Not this much. I don't want to see her struggling with her marriage, her kid, etc.

tl;dr GA, I stopped watching it a long time ago. makes me sad but it jumped the shark loooong ago.

30 Rock however...oh this show is genius. I love it, and I loved everything about this episode but most of all, Liz drunk dialing the CO-OP. "I JUST WENT AND BOUGHT A BUNCH OF APARTMENTS, SOOOO....*click*"

I keep thinking I should give up GA since it frustrates me so much these days, but I just can't. I loved it so much in the first couple of seasons that I keep hoping it'll get back there.

But 30 Rock is awesome. The best thing about the drunk dialing is that it kept going on and on and on! Just the first phone call would've been funny, but the last one, with Liz drinking wine on the treadmill, was hilarious! Poor Liz!
