Just found out David Eddings passed away today. Many thanks to him for being the first fantasy author I loved as a kid :( RIP
He was one of my first big loves, too. He wrote epic fantasy that I love because it's funny and has great romance. His characters are a lot more human than many fantasy characters. I know some of you love him, too. And, for the rest of you, I highly recommend you check him out. He co-wrote his books with his wife, Leigh (who died a couple of years ago).
I've been wanting to re-read their books for a long time, and now they're at the top of my list. I think I'm going to begin Pawn of Prophecy tonight. If you want to check their work out, that's where I recommend you start. It's the beginning of a five book series (which has a five book sequel series). I know that sounds like a lot, but they're fast, fun reads. Just really fantastic stories.
