Did I mention the film rights for the Queen of Babble series have been optioned by Sharp Independent Films, and Kristin Bell of Veronica Mars and Forgetting Sarah Marshall has agreed to play Lizzie Nichols???

That would be awesome. One of my favorite book series, one of my favorite actresses . . .

And . . . HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! Which I figure I can direct to everyone on my flist because if you're not American, I can be wishing you happiness on this random day in July. I don't have any plans for the fourth, which I was prepared to be defensive about ("I don't like crowds, I don't like noise."), but then I talked to lots of other people who don't have plans, so I guess I'm not the only one who feels this way. Anyway, this no crowds/no noise plan might not work because:

1. In an apparent quest to break everything I own . . . I broke my coffeepot. And that's something I need to replace as soon as possible.
2. Fireworks are legal here. Which I realized, literally, yesterday. They weren't legal where I was living last year. People still set them off, but . . . I think it's going to much worse here.

I wish I had no other plans other than my usual 'watch Independence Day on Independence Day' yearly ritual, but the mother's forcing me to accompany the family out to the park for a BBQ. Me no family person.

Fireworks are legal where you live? Hmm, I don't know that way of life very well...Happy fourth to you as well & good luck with your um..breaking stuff thing. Hopefully you have a chill day. ;)

Neither do I! They were illegal in the city I grew up in, but now I moved and . . . they don't do things that way. ;)

I've never read the Queen of Babble books, but I loved Meg Cabot's other novels. I should definitely pick the QoB ones up right?

Yeah! They're some of my favorites of hers and, well, if Kristen Bell is going to be in the movie . . . :D (Plus, the final one just came out, so you won't have to wait to find out how it ends.)

The Heather Wells mysteries are being optioned for a television series too. (Those are my favorites.) But I love Kristen Bell, and I think the movie would be great!

And yes, coffeepots are exceedingly important.

My plans are usually just a cookout with my family (although I actually had plans this year with a couple of friends), but we're fairly small and very close-knit (just my grandparents, my two uncles, my parents, and us, and occasionally my brother and his fiancee) so I can understand the crowd/noise thing.

A cookout doesn't sound that bad. My family never did much for the 4th growing up. I think we ended up traveling during a lot of it, so just never got in the habit.
